‘Ray Donovan’ season 3, episode 8 preview: Enter Andrew Finney with the emotional blackmail

Through the past several episodes of “Ray Donovan,” we have certainly learned quite a few things about the Finney family … with one of the most paramount ones being that once this family really starts to get its talons into you, it is very hard to find a suitable escape route. This is something that we are starting to see our title character struggle with more and more, and it is a fixture of the new sneak peek below.

In this particular video, you can see Ray in a heated conversation with Andrew Finney, and the latter makes one thing very clear: He has something he wants done, and he is willing to do just about anything / everything to ensure that it happens. This includes threatening Ray, and reminding him that without him, his brother would still be in a particularly precarious position.

Hopefully, the end of “Ray Donovan” this week does bring us some surprises, but can you really imagine Ray getting out of business with the Finney family two-thirds into this season? This feels like something that is going to continue to hang over his head for a little while, and it is probably also going to get so much uglier before it starts to get better for him. At this point, he really better prepare for that.

We’ll have more on the rest of the season following Sunday night’s new episode. This is the point where almost every single one of them is a big one.
