‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Malese Jow will return as Linda Park

Does Linda Park still have a significant role to play on “The Flash” season 2? Those who have read the comic books would be willing to wager so. She has interactions with people far beyond Barry Allen; while we cannot confirm that some of these connections will be explored, we are at least happy to tell you that she will be back.

This news was first confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, and executive producer Gabrielle Stanton gives a good low-down of how the show plans to use her in multiple episodes, at least in the early going:

“Linda Park will return as Iris West’s [Candice Patton] friend and colleague at Central Picture News and her past relationship with Barry will put both Iris and The Flash in unexpected danger.”

Isn’t it nice that Iris and Linda are going to be friends? We really dig that, mostly because it’s great to see her have someone she can talk to who is not just involved in STAR Labs and that operation. Sure, we though that she has Caitlin and Cisco, but in the first season, the person who was really hers first and foremost was Eddie. He’s gone (we’re assuming you already know this if you are reading), so someone has to at least fill that friendship void while we wait to see if Barry will fill the romantic one.

(Comic spoilers ahead.) Given that “The Flash” now has Wally West and he marries Linda in the source material, is it possible that we could be going down that road, as well? We’d be awfully silly at this point to rule anything of this variety out completely.
