ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Is there tension coming for Ryan and Esposito?
We’ve made it no secret that Ryan and Esposito are two of our personal favorite characters on “Castle,” and much of the reason for that is their friendship / banter with one another. It’s been a while since we’ve really seen them put to the test, but that could be coming up during the upcoming eighth season.
You may have heard at some point during the past few weeks that Ryan and his wife Jenny are expecting their second kid in the early going this season, and for the most part, this is definitely a good thing. How could it now be? As executive producer Terence Paul Winter tells TV Guide, one problem that will come as a result of this is that Seamus Dever’s character is going to be more focused than ever trying to make money, and this could pose some problems for his partnership:
“We have some exciting news for the Ryan family: They’re expecting another kid … Ultimately, that’s going to make Ryan even more paranoid and more excited about trying to make more money. When he sees Beckett rising up in the ranks, the boys realize it’s time for them to start looking at their futures, which is going to create some tension and conflict between them.”
For the most part, we’re hopeful that he will find a way to work things out. Given that Ryan and Esposito are woven so tightly into the fabric of the show, we have a real hard time imagining either one of them leaving. Maybe they will be tested, but there could be some solutions to Ryan’s problem that come in unexpected places.

In my humble opinion, Esposito is currently a narrow-minded, myopic douche. (By far, he’s become my least favorite character for the past 2-3 seasons).
