‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 brings you the past and the present in latest promo

If nothing else, ABC is consistent when it comes to how they are marketing “Once Upon a Time“: As family programming that introduces many fan favorite characters, but also something that tells a classic story of good vs. evil with a variety of twists thrown in.

The first thing that the latest promo (which you can see below via the network) does is mostly highlight everything that has come before. This includes many mentions of Neverland, the Wicked Witch’s arrival, and of course the whole “Frozen” story last year. They may not have any bearing on the current story, but they are a good way to bring in some more stragglers who somehow may have missed out on this episodes.

Eventually, the promo does get around to discussing some new topics, and by that we specifically mean diving into some of the new stories of the season: King Arthur’s court, Merida from “Brave,” and of course Dark Swan. All of these bring separate appeal to the show. Camelot has plenty of fans, as do the Pixar movies. As for Dark Swan, that is for the most part just a way to get some diehard fans enthused in what could be coming up since the Dark One is a story that has been a part of the show from the very beginning.

New episodes of the show are going to start airing on Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time; hopefully, we are going to have some more news related to it soon.
