‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: John campaigns to Vanessa

JohnFor those of you complaining last week that Johnny Mac was not doing enough to save himself in “Big Brother 17,” we present you now with some evidence that with his back truly up against the wall, the dude is fighting hard to keep himself safe in the game. Not only that, but he has a really good argument.

As he told Vanessa this afternoon, is it really that good of an idea to work with Austin and the twins? While he did not put her on the block this week, he didn’t have a chance after the Veto, and he was afraid of her “flipping out” if she was nominated. Austin wants someone else to do the work, and the twins and him have Meg and James for at least the time being, and he thinks that they may not make a move on them. His pitch to her is as follows: If she works with him, Meg, and James, he will publicly go after Austin and the twins, she will not be a big target, and she has the potential to get much further than with those three people. He tells her that she’s not as close to them as she thinks.

Even if not all of this is ringing true in Vanessa’s brain, there is at least one part of this that she really should be considering at this point: Vanessa is currently fourth in that alliance. She cannot possibly think that Austin or Julia would choose her over Liz. Maybe she thinks someone else will get power and chip them off for her, but that’s risky and dependent on what someone else does.

If Vanessa wants to make a big move, this could be a chance to do it. There are benefits, but the risks may be too much to have it be worth her. For example, if she evicts John and he comes right back into the game, is it possible that he targets Austin and the twins anyway and she has no blood on her hands? That has to at least be a consideration.
