‘Doctor Who’ season 9 spoilers: Peter Capaldi, Steven Moffat talk working with Maisie Williams
There are many interesting new faces cropping up on the upcoming ninth season of “Doctor Who,” but we feel like none are really generating the attention like Maisie Williams. The “Game of Thrones” star is set to make an appearance in at least one installment (maybe two) of the hit sci-fi series, but for the time being, almost everyone continues to be coy about what sort of role she is playing … other than that she is remarkable at it.
The video below comes from BBC America, and it features both executive producer Steven Moffat and star Peter Capaldi talking up her appearance. Neither was willing to share many specifics, but Capaldi did offer up the following message when pressed for details on the part:
“I don’t want to give away too much about what she does, but what I would say is she is quite ‘cosmic’ really … She’s not quite what she seems.”
Moffat in particular hyped up the remarkable moments between Williams and Capaldi, two actors from very different generations who found an interesting way to work together. The video does also offer up probably more footage of her in the part than we have seen to date, and it is worth checking out for that alone.
Williams is not in the premiere episode of season 9, but we assume that as we near her appearance on the series, we’ll have more in the way of news to report, so keep on the lookout.
