‘Falling Skies’ season 5, episode 10 (series finale) preview: Prepare for destruction, death, and a hopeful victory

Next week on TNT, it all comes to a close. It is still somewhat strange to even think about “Falling Skies” ending. It’s been a solid entry in the network’s summer programming for years, and it has pushed the whole alien-invasion genre at a time when it needed to be pushed.

As of late, though, the series has been almost as much about the humans fighting humans as it has been humans fighting aliens, and it will be interesting to see how the writers ultimate decide to tie things up in the finale. The title here is “Reborn,” and if you look below, you can go ahead and get some preliminary details in terms of what to expect:

“The final standoff brings the Masons, the 2nd Mass and their new allies into the bowels of an iconic American location, wrought with new and unpredictable obstacles. Despite great loss along the way, they must persevere with hopes of once and for all reclaiming Earth and humanity.”

Clearly, you have to expect that there will be lives lost before we reach the finish line, just as you have to expect that there will be some surprises and some huge special effects. We still refuse to believe that the series will end in any sort of despair, and with that, we are keeping ourselves enthusiastic about the ending.

You can see the promo below, but it doesn’t give much away. We just want to see Pope back more than anything else. That really couldn’t be the end for him!
