‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ spoilers: When will the cast be revealed?

The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres on September 14, and while that is only a few weeks away, we are still going to have to wait for a little while to see the official cast be revealed … sort of.

The show confirms that the roster of celebrities for this season will be unveiled throughout the weeks ahead (it was supposed to originally be September 2 on “Good Morning America”), and of course there are already plenty of rumors out there. We certainly wouldn’t be shocked if another former “Full House” star joins Candace Cameron Bure as an alumni, or if there is someone from “Pretty Little Liars” and/or “The Fosters” on the series. The same goes for “The Bachelorette.” In a way, “Dancing with the Stars” has become a farm system for further blossoming stars who already work for parent company Disney.

From the standpoint of athletes, we’re sure that there will probably be an Olympian in here somewhere, and either a former NFL player or a baseball star. It’s during the season, and therefore pretty hard to get someone currently employed by either league.

The one name that has been brought for seasons now is Kacy Catanzaro, and while we feel like there may be some interest there, we’d be a little surprised that ABC would openly promote someone best known for an NBC show in “American Ninja Warrior” that actually has the same timeslot as “Dancing with the Stars,” even if they typically don’t compete directly against each other for more than a week a year (if that).
