‘Scream Queens’ spoilers: New promo includes ‘Glee,’ ‘American Horror Story’ reminders

We don’t want to spend too much time in this particular “Scream Queens” article talking about the actual story content of the promo below. Why is that? The simple answer is that the vast majority of this is footage that you’ve seen a variety of times before. The show is not really into opening up the vault of material; they’ve definitely filmed quite a bit since releasing the first trailer months ago, but why reveal more than they have to? They’ll probably unveil at least one more trailer with new footage before the September 22 premiere, but there’s no real need to ruin something already in demand.

What we want to point out here is a graphic that aired in this trailer making it very clear even to casual viewers that this show comes from the minds of the same people (Ryan Murphy Productions) who made “Glee” and “American Horror Story” into hits.

Will this actually generate any more hits? We figure that most people who cared about the production connection between the three shows is probably already planning to watch. Where we do think the value comes is with this: You want confidence that a show is going to stick around for a while. We’re in an age of quick cancellations and stories falling off a cliff. You know that the producers here are behind hits. Therefore, maybe there is a little less to worry about and you will want to get invested?
