‘Chicago Fire’ season 4 spoilers: Meet one of the new bosses!

Chicago Fire -The good news for “Chicago Fire” season 4 is that after a tumultuous third season on the job, we expect to see more of Chief Boden around the firehouse this season. As for the bad news, he may have someone new to clash with as far as a higher-up goes.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Fredric Lehne is set to recur on the NBC drama series as Deputy District Chief Ray Riddle, which actually sounds more like the name of a Harry Potter character than someone who is in a position of power on a Dick Wolf series. Riddle is a man who has further ambitions beyond his current post, and that means that he could be eventually gunning for the job of Fire Commissioner. Let’s just hope that nobody at Firehouse 51 messes with him too much, given that he would probably have no problem hampering their ability to actually do their job.

What makes “Chicago Fire” different as a show than many of the other Wolf procedurals is that you do get a better sense of politics in here and of the hierarchy in the world of solving fires. While Boden may tackle the day-to-day of the firehouse, it ultimately goes so far beyond that into the people who are overseeing the Chiefs, and then someone who manages everything from the top.

The new season of “Chicago Fire” will premiere on Tuesday, October 13 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, and you can expect to see answers almost right away when it comes to the Casey cliffhanger at the end of season 3. That is something the writers are going to want to tackle without much delay.
