ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 8 spoilers: Talking new episode titles!
We’re so thrilled that we are far enough into “Castle” season 8 now to actually start to get into the business of talking episode titles, even if not all of the time they are the easiest to decipher in terms of clues.
Below, you can see titles that are confirmed by SpoilerTV to be the third and fourth installments of the season. First, you’ve got Barry O’Brien penning “What Lies Beneath…,” which really could be about just about anything. This is a title that we’ve probably heard attached to at least three or four other shows over the years, and this is without even mentioning the movie.
Meanwhile, Chad Gomez Creasey also confirmed that the fourth episode is going to be titled “PhDead,” which is funny in a wonderfully twisted sort of way. The obvious implication here is that this story could be all about the death of some sort of prominent person at a university, or just someone who really fancies themselves on being called “Doctor” anytime they go anywhere. We’ve all met someone like this; heck, we’ve even met people who love to put their Master’s Degree after their name before.
Hopefully these two episodes contain more of what longtime “Castle” fans love, and that is that mixture of humor, mystery, and a little bit of drama. We know that there are many changes coming, but we really do still feel like this is going to roughly be more or less the same show as before in terms of tone.

I feel compelled to watch the first two episodes at least. They are supposed to introduce the new characters and establish the love, drama and pace for the rest of the season. After that I will just have to wait and see. Unfortunately, I am concerned that many more are of the same opinion but at least the new show runners would have been given a chance.
