‘The Amazing Race Canada 3’ episode 8 preview: Will teams struggle in India?

Gino -

For those of you who have been very-much interested in seeing the teams on “The Amazing Race Canada” go back to another international destination, you’re going to see that next week! The remaining six teams are taking off to Calcutta, India, and will face probably their biggest culture shock of the entire season.

We have seen so many legs in India on other seasons to know what the conditions here are. It’s extremely hot, extremely crowded, and communication is difficult. This is going to really test teams’ fearlessness and resolve more than anywhere else.

For some of the weaker teams physically, this is also a chance to really get a leg up and try to get someone like Gino & Jesse eliminated. You don’t want them in a finale, since these are going to be the sort of legs that are easy for them to win. Typically international legs are even more reliant on surveying your surroundings and proper communication; so many things can go wrong, from a bad driver to getting lost without an easy way of navigation.

The promo that aired after Wednesday’s episode (read our review here) certainly suggested that there will be conflict. Hopefully Brian is a little less cranky this time, and that Nick & Matt recover from what was performance-wise their worst leg of the season. (We know that they finished in a lower spot the first week, but there were way more teams and they didn’t make as many errors on a single task.) Right now, it feels like the wrestlers, Dujean & Leilani, and Gino & Jesse are the only serious threats to win the competition … with the brothers being far out in front.
