‘Power’ enters season 3 on a high note with impressive ratings
For all of those who love “Power” on Starz, you have to be feeling really great with the way that season 2 ended … not just in terms of the story, but also its commercial success.
When the series first premiered, our expectations were not that high, given that the biggest name was Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in a supporting role and many other non-franchise series for the network have not proven to be a big success. However, the show has since come out and truly surprised us with just how much it has grown in terms of year to year, and also over the course of the season.
The latest proof of all of this comes courtesy of the numbers for the season 2 finale. Overall, the series drew over 1.5 million viewers, and then also a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Not here that these are just the live ratings, and it will generate much more success in multiple airings / DVR / On-Demand viewings throughout the week. The numbers for the live airing do mark series highs, and are a nice increase from the season 1 finale.
“Power” was renewed for a third season a good while ago, so there has never really been any concern as to the show’s future in that regard. We’re mostly just curious at this point about whether or not the series can continue to blossom and grow with more and more people discovering it. Sure, you may have to subscribe to Starz in order to do so, but premium cable networks have shown over the years that if you have great programming, people will flock to see it.
