‘MasterChef’ season 6, episode 15 review: Trouble in teams
Tonight, “MasterChef” brought us one of the most-famous competitions of the entire season, mostly because it revolved around the home cooks having to swap out spots right in the middle of a dish. It’s chaotic, it’s intense, and it makes us never want to cook competitively with anyone ever.
Luckily for Nick, he managed to avoid getting into the thick of this part of the episode. He got to take a nice little break, and watch everyone else stress intently. As we started to near the end of the show, it was clear that Tommy and Katrina were in trouble. Katrina shined earlier in the night, while conversely Tommy has been more of a late bloomer.
Unfortunately, we feel like it is just too little and too late when it comes to Tommy’s chances this competition. He should feel glad about about how far he’s come, and that he got a chance to really redeem himself the final few weeks and prove that he could be more than a guy who can make good-looking food. Stepping away from this competition, he can be confident in what he’s done.
The winners of the challenge tonight were Derrick and Stephen, and we weren’t exactly that shocked by this. They are two of our favorites this season, and they are probably two of the best cooks, as well. We’d actually be more than thrilled if they were the final two, even though we do still think Hetal and Katrina are big contenders despite their struggles at times tonight.
