‘Big Brother 17’ review: OTEV returns … and not too much else
There was really not that much to look forward to on Wednesday night’s “Big Brother 17” other than OTEV. We’re not trying to be rude to the show or anything, but this has been a pretty quiet week. Liz is Head of Household, she had a plan from almost the start, and there was no reason for her to deviate from it.
So rather than try to make the story-centric details of this episode interesting (since they are not, given that Liz did not use the Veto and Johnny Mac / Becky are still on the block), let’s instead go into some of the other things that we found interesting in the episode.
1. Poor Meg continuing to get abused in the competitions, and the funny thing is that she actually beat Becky in OTEV!
2. This one was OTEV the singing role asking for butter, and it somehow may be even hokier than any one that we’ve seen in recent memory. Liz’s victory here is not something you should have a big reaction to here.
3. The show really buried Austin with the hickey, didn’t they? The funny thing is that we do think he’s done some good things strategically, but his unlikable qualities and goofy antics have really made it hard on him to be taken seriously.
4. Yes, they are still turning that #bbscandal into a thing, but we are starting to feel like even they know this is ridiculous, and are almost reveling in making Meg and Clay into something more than it is. Clay isn’t even in the house anymore.
5. Yes, Vanessa cries a lot … and James is a prankster.
