‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ reportedly adds transgender cast member and ‘Facts of Life’ star
At the moment, there is little question to us that “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is in some sort of major transition. For many years, NeNe Leakes was the biggest star of the entire franchise, and almost the entirety of the series has her as its biggest star.
However, NeNe has decided to move on from the Bravo series, and with that, the show is of course doing what they can to bring in some new faces. This is where we are right now.
According to a new report from TMZ, Kim Fields of “The Facts of Life” is going to be one of the new stars of this upcoming season, and hopefully she will get a chance to take more of the good than the bad with this show. (Sorry, but we had to. Too obvious?)
Also, the site reports that the show has also cast its first transgender cast member in Amiyah Scott, who first began her transformation many years ago. There has been a rise in transgender stories over the past several months, and they have brought more attention both to the cause and to many shows as of late. “Big Brother” just cast its first transgender cast member earlier this year in Audrey Middleton, and we’ve also recently had “I Am Cait” premiere to pretty big numbers over on E!.
The new season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is still many months out, but we’ll have more news soon enough.
