‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Be prepared for more of Iris the journalist

The second season of “The Flash” has the potential to be a great deal of fun, and one of the things that we are looking to enjoy out of it the most is getting a further opportunity to see how some of the characters aboard the series make the most of the chances that are going to be given to them.

When it comes to Iris West, she is probably forced to deal with conflicting emotions more than anyone. She is still going to be mourning the loss of Eddie Thawne when the series returns on October 7, and having that weigh on her is going to be incredibly difficult to deal with.

However, at the same time she may also realize that she has more of an opportunity to do good than she had throughout the majority of the first season! She is now firmly aware of what Barry Allen and company are up to over at STAR Labs, and she can leverage that into reporting on stories the right way for Central City. All of this is set up perfectly by showrunner Gabrielle Stanton, who passed along the following message to TVLine:

“She has a really cool job, and she’s going to be standing on her own two feet a bit more … She’s definitely going to be part of Team Flash more this season, and we’re definitely going to see more of her work life. We’re going to see her generate stories and be really proactive.”
