‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Power of Veto results and a possible OTEV return
For the second straight year, “Big Brother 17” chose to follow up a Double Eviction with OTEV, one of our favorite Power of Veto Competitions of the entire season. This one was competitive yet again seemingly, but did it actually have an impact on the results for the week? It really doesn’t sound like it.
In the end, it seems like the winner of the competition was none other than the Head of Household herself in Liz, given that she was talking about how she was going to be keeping the nominations the same rather than making any sort of move. Johnny Mac and Becky are on the block, and for now we know that Becky seems to be the target. (Since when did Liz become such a competition beast? Sure, she did win a Battle of the Block more or less by herself earlier this season, but still.)
Now, the million-dollar question seems to be whether or not Johnny Mac threw it, since he talked beforehand about potentially doing this out of trust for Austin and the twins. It sounds like he was really horrible in the competition, so it’s possible he just stunk since nobody wants to make it look like they are deliberately throwing it and getting a little too cute.
If John actually did throw it, we’re not going to bury him nearly as much as some other people out there seem ready to do. Our perspective on this right now is that had he tried hard to win and lost, he would have been a bigger target. Had he won, he may have lost the trust of Austin and the Twins and it is a little early to try and run the table in competitions. If Becky goes, he needs someone to work with. They effectively control the vote, and if Julia, Austin, and Steve vote to keep him, Liz will break the tie and he is fine.
