‘Poldark’ season 2 spoilers: Aidan Turner reveals larger episode order

Sure, it may be easy to bemoan the fact that there is no new “Poldark” on the air for many more months, but how about this for a way to make you feel a little bit better? According to series star Aidan Turner, the show is going to be on the air for at least a little bit longer in 2016.

Here is what the actor had to say on the subject of filming recently to The Huffington Post:

“We’ve two extra episodes this season, which is amazing. The shoot is probably seven and a half months or something like that. A bit longer than last year.”

In total, this means that there will be ten episodes of the show for this coming season, which is actually rather long for a British series. This is a stark comparison to shows of course in America, which can run for as many as 24. The fact that they are still filming for almost an equal amount of time for these ten episodes as an American show does a good 18-22 should be a pretty harsh indication that for British television, they take more time to create every hour. Part of that is much more location work, while many American series choose to operate in closed sets using familiar locations.

Filming will be commencing not long after the time of publication on this article, and if you want to know what’s next, you’re right there with us. The only thing that we can hope for is that Turner’s Poldark is going to recover from the devastating events from the season 1 finale, while aired earlier this year and Britain and in August on PBS. This show has the potential to be the next global sensational coming out of Britain, so we are curious about everything from the content to the promotion.
