‘The Amazing Race Canada 3’ top 7 rankings: Are Gino & Jesse clear frontrunners?
We have made it no secret that we’re loving the heck out of “The Amazing Race Canada.” It has a tremendous sense of national pride, and for some reason (maybe it’s the casting of more seemingly-real people) we actually have come to enjoy it more than the US version of the show. Also, Jon Montgomery has really come into his own as the host, and is allowed himself to have a ton of fun.
What we’re doing today is something that we’re going to busting out for the rest of the season in ranking the remaining contestants. There are a number of factors to consider here, whether it be race performance, intelligence, athleticism, and edit. We ultimately are going to try and consider all of them when formulating this week after week until the finale.
7. Simi & Ope – The thing that these two have going for them is a great relationship, and they really do not seem to have much conflict at all between the two of them. However, what we have also seen with them is a continued weakness: Ope’s inability to swim. There have been so many water-based tasks so far this season, and we do have to think that more are coming. It is almost an instant disadvantage that he and his daughter have to handle.
6. Neil & Kristin – They have a strong bond, and they have shown flashes of being a very good team. However, they’ve also shown a capacity to bee tripped up, and take an incredibly long time at some tasks. That is the sort of thing that is pretty hard to ignore at this point.
5. Brent & Sean – They do have the Express Pass, and they’ve never been in severe danger of going home. The issue that we have with them as serious contenders is that we’ve never really seen that second gear out of them that suggests that they could really win a leg, let alone the season. Then again, we worried about the same thing with Mickey & Pete, and they figured it out at the right time.
4. Brian & Cynthia – They are excellent candidates at this point to be the second or third-place team at the end of the season. They are two of the most determined people left and they’re very smart; unfortunately, they’re not beating anyone in a footrace. They are in a position here where they need to run a perfect leg if they want to win, and have to hope someone else messes up.
3. Dujean & Leilani – They are combustible, but we have seen that they can win a leg. Not only that, but they’re very athletic, and that will probably become more valuable as the race goes on and more and more of the teams start to become exhausted.
2. Nick & Matt – Consistency is the key here. Sure, we think that their edit has been very positive and that’s a boost, but how do ignore the fact that they have improved every single leg? Nobody else this season has done that, and sooner or later they may be able to get past the hump and into the lead.
1. Gino & Jesse – It’s a risk putting them at the top because they are so unpredictable, but the truth of the matter here is that when they are going 100% with no mental mistakes, they are almost impossible to beat. They’ve won three legs, and that’s enough to give them this spot. Their biggest enemy this season will be themselves.
