‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 3, episode 10 review: What Cat and Vincent learn in ‘Patient X’
We knew already that Liam was definitely a bad dude on “Beauty and the Beast,” but at this point we are starting to get an even clearer idea of just how dangerous he truly is. Let’s just say that he may be the most formidable foe that Can and Vincent have faced yet, mostly because there are a pair of separate things when it comes to him that they really have to worry about.
First and foremost, let’s begin with the biggest news of the night: Liam is also a beast to go along with his various superpowers, which really makes him the worst person to ever experiment with. This concerns Vincent greatly, mostly because it could bring him back to a particularly violent, difficult part of his past where he was not fully in control. He is still in some ways haunted by what happened with Gabe, and going back there is not easy to bear.
Yet, at the same time, they now know for sure that he has to be stopped in some way, but this is the sort of problem where you may also need him to fully understand what happened. He’s useful for the sake of science, but detrimental for the sake of survival since they cannot risk the truth getting out. That’s not the most delightful combination in the world.
If there is some sort of good news that we can boast about in here, it is that JT and Tess are now back together! This of course means that they can start to prepare a little bit more for their own future again, and they are on the same page. However, the fact that JT is feeling some unfortunate side effects, and isn’t being that forthcoming about them, could mean more problems are on the way.
In the end, we did enjoy this episode for its twists and turns. The Liam reveal was hardly that shocking, but it does set the stage for a great final three episodes this season. Grade: B.
