‘The Amazing Race Canada 3’ episode 7 preview: Tension mounts between Brian & Cynthia

BrianSometimes, it is rather hard to write about preview for “The Amazing Race Canada,” since they often revolve more around the location and the tasks than any particular moment within the episode. The only thing story-wise that the one following Wednesday’s episode gave us is that there is some conflict coming for consistently solid team Brian & Cynthia in Saskatoon.

Can we say that we’re shocked by this? Not really. Brian in particular is a very intense guy, and if something goes wrong for them on the leg, it’s easy to see them getting into some arguments. They’ve been together so long that they’ll be able to work through it, but that is something that they have to contend with. We imagine that the two of them do realize that they need to be somewhat fast in the navigation portions of the race; they’re not the strongest or the fastest team, so they need to be smartest team to be at the front of the pack.

For their sake, let’s just hope that they don’t have to do any acting tasks moving forward. It made for great television watching them pretend to be clueless about crime-solving at the CSI task in Sudbury, but it felt almost like a friend acting like they haven’t went Christmas shopping yet when you can see the packages sticking out from underneath their bed.

We’d say that Brian & Cynthia are still within the top four teams right now competing for the grand prize. They along with Gino & Jesse, Nick & Matt, and Dujean & Leilani are the ones we consider to be serious threats. The father / daughter teams have not been consistent enough, and while Brent & Sean have never been in serious danger, we don’t really get the sense that they have another gear other than using the Express Pass. If we’re wrong, then we’ll be the first to own it.
