‘Legends of Tomorrow’ spoilers: Setting the stage with ‘The Flash,’ ‘Arrow’

LegendsThe DC Universe on TV right now is becoming massive. You have “Arrow” and “The Flash” set to air new seasons, the premiere of “Supergirl” (which could at least be set in the same universe) over on CBS, and the news that John Constantine is coming into this canon himself. Add to this the upcoming “Legends of Tomorrow” spin-off show, and you have enough superhero stories to be celebrated for months. This is something we did not think would be possible years ago.

When thinking about “Legends” in particular, what you have to remember here is that there are so many different components that need to be worked out here that it’s going to take away more than a crossover episode to get you introduced to the cast, and the journey that they will be traveling on. This is why the show will over time discuss some of the individual stories. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, executive produce Andrew Kreisberg did his part to lay out some of the groundwork on what you will see leading into this show’s 2016 premiere:

“Both Arrow and Flash are helping to set those things up, in both big ways and small ways, which is lovely … The mystery of what happened with Palmer (Brandon Routh) is playing out on Arrow. Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) will also be playing out in the first seven episodes. The Flash, we obviously have Firestorm and Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). And Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee) lives in Central City in the Flash finale. Getting to know her. There’s going to be a lot happening leading up to the crossover, which is serving as a [quasi] pilot for Legends.”

Of this statement, one thing to remember here is that Ronnie still has not been confirmed for “Legends of Tomorrow,” and in between the singularity and the multiverse, who knows if he really will be a part of it? Everything else at least seems to be set in stone for now.
