‘Supernatural’ season 11 far from the end, CW boss proclaims

Supernatural -

You’ve probably seen a few stories here and there at this point about the future of “Supernatural,” and this is just another one to smile over. Why? We’ve got even more evidence now that the show is not planning to end at any point in the near future.

While at the TCA Summer Press Tour today, CW programming head Mark Pedowitz did his part to reiterate that so long as “the numbers hold” and the creative team involved wants to keep making the show, they will. He also seemed confident that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are still invested, praising their “enthusiasm” that they bring to the table week in and week out.

For the record, Pedowitz also made it clear that the network is still very much interested in expanding the show with another spin-off. It probably will not happen this year, but they are open to future ideas. The show previously tried one with “Bloodlines” during season 9; while that was a noble attempt, it ultimately never came together and the pilot was not well-received.

Ultimately, we’re just happy for now that there will be more “Supernatural” for at least a little while. In between the Darkness coming and all of the craziness that will come as a result of that, we have a pretty exciting 11th season ahead. The show is currently filming in Vancouver, with Ackles even directing one of the early episodes. At the moment, the show will premiere on Wednesday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Stay tuned for more…
