Ratings: ‘Bachelor in Paradise 2,’ ‘American Ninja Warrior’ impress; ‘The Whispers’ falls more
As it turns out, there may be more interest in “Bachelor in Paradise” than we first thought during the show’s premiere week! After getting off to somewhat of a slow start, the romantic competition (if there is such a term) rose to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic Monday night. This is a pretty solid rating for the show, and it stays somewhere around here you may as well lock this in for another season.
To us, the even bigger surprise is the performance of the “After Paradise” show that followed. While the majority of the internet complained about the show last week, it still drew the same exact 0.8 rating! Everyone still watched! This isn’t a good number in the slightest, but remember here that this show probably costs next to nothing to make compared to some other original programming that you could put on. They already have the set, and you just have to pay the talent and the crew. It’s not too hard a task.
The big casualty of “After Paradise” is “The Whispers.” It’s a terrible lead-in, and the fact that “The Whispers” only scored a 0.6 Monday more or less proves that. With this being said, you do also have to remember here that there was almost no chance it was going to be renewed anyway. This is just helping in some ways to not prolong the inevitable.
Elsewhere, how about “American Ninja Warrior”? In speaking of shows that are relatively cheap to put on, NBC’s competition show scored an incredible 2.0 rating and over seven million viewers, its highest viewer total ever. To think, this is all for an adaptation of a show we used to watch in Japanese on G4. (Also, we miss G4.)
