‘After Paradise’ review: Tenley Molzahn, Jonathan Holloway, Ashley Salter talk Joe Bailey and more

After ParadiseThe second episode of “After Paradise” aired on Monday night, and it was for the most part … better? We’d say so, and even by a pretty wide margin. Pretty much everything this time around was better than the first episode of the “Bachelor in Paradise” aftershow, and we figure that one of the real reasons why for that is simply because of the fact that the show had much more structured. It was more about the contestants, Chris Harrison had more control, and there were fewer people aboard the show overall.

In terms of Harrison’s co-hosts for the evening, let’s say that we liked Jenny Mollen much better this week. Occasionally a joke or two fell flat, but she was more laughing with the contestants this time versus laughing at them. That’s so much more the tone of this show. Paul Scheer was a bit of a random guest, but he was funny and it didn’t feel too much like cross-promotion even if he is on another ABC show.

As for some of the individual segments…

Tenley Molzahn – She had the most airtime, and we got the larger scope of her story. This interview was mostly just awkward because there is more to her story still this season, so it felt like an incomplete picture.

Jonathan Holloway – Jenny is totally right here that fighting with Joe may have actually helped him! He didn’t come off as that likable in the first week of the show, but he definitely did after being duped by Joe Bailey, whose actions were a recurring theme.

Ashley Salter – This was the worst part of the night. Ashley really didn’t have anything to do other than just listen to people talk about how weird she is. If she was actually a normal person, the show really doesn’t want you to know about it!

So overall, this show isn’t Shakespeare. Yet, it’s not trying to be. It’s mostly just silly entertainment that at least had more order this time. Grade: B-.
