‘The Fosters’ season 3, episode 9 review: Brandon’s song for Callie; Lena, Stef, and Monte drama
As we get to the end of “The Fosters” this summer, it feels like the show is kicking off its own version of a fireworks show with one dramatic situation after the next. We have people coming together, people falling apart, and one of the most iconic moments we’ve seen in a while. Didn’t your heart melt watching Brandon play the composition he wrote specifically about his unrequited love for Callie? It was a sweet moment, and one that may set up more for the couple.
Here’s the problem: The relationship between these two characters is such that it causes problems for Callie’s adoption. Serious problems. Callie also has put herself in a position thanks to her recording that if she wants to clear Rita’s name in the whole Carmen – Brooke incident, she implicated herself and Brandon’s past. The fact that there was more that happened between the two at the end of the episode only made it worse. This all escalated quickly (not to mention physically), and sometimes it does.
As for other drama tonight, we turn to Stef and Lena. After all of the Monte drama finally came clean, these two have to confront what happened so long ago, and the fact that Monte clearly has some feelings that are causing her some problems of her own.
As for finding out the truth about why Mat didn’t want to sleep with Mariana earlier this season, our opinion changed of him. It’s just sad for these two that right when they were getting closer, they have another hurdle courtesy of what Mariana chose to do while Mat was away.
