‘Downton Abbey’ season 6: Elizabeth McGovern, Joanne Froggatt prepare for end of filming

DowntonAs we have said over the past week and a half or so, now is an emotional time for the entire cast and crew of “Downton Abbey.” They’ve had a thrill being a part of what has to be an extraordinary experience, but all things do come to a close, and we’re just about at that time when this is happening.

Below, you can see a pair of messages from two people who have been a part of this series for many years now in Elizabeth McGovern (Cora) and Joanne Froggatt (Anna). Both saw their careers surge as a result of doing this show, and we’re really not surprised. This is the sort of series that is extremely performance-heavy, and therefore something you really do want to be a part of. After all, it can carry you to many other avenues in your career.

We know that following this series in particular, both of these actors are going to be just fine and have an opportunity to do a wide variety of other things. Why wouldn’t they? They each have built a pretty fantastic following, and also have shown capable of brilliant performances.

So with filming wrapping up, now comes the next part of the process: Just waiting for the series to actually air. For the time being, we are projecting a premiere for “Downton Abbey” in Britain next month; it will come to America on PBS in early January. Once again, there will be eight episodes coupled with a Christmas Special, which will serve as the series finale in this case.
