‘The Mindy Project’ season 4 finally secures Hulu premiere date
Just in case you were wondering when we were going to get a chance to see Mindy Kaling on Hulu with new episodes of “The Mindy Project,” we now have an answer for you: Tuesday, September 15. This announcement was made today by the streaming service, along with the fact that the show is going to be released weekly, making it very much akin to a standard network comedy.
What is still unclear is whether or not the show’s fourth season will be split up into batches of two, because as-is the idea of doing 26 half-hours of a single-camera comedy is completely terrifying within the span of a single TV season. That’s why it makes some more sense for it to be split up somehow.
What we like about the premiere date here is that Hulu is giving Kaling, the writers, and the cast enough time to get some new episodes ready, and at the same time you are also getting a little bit of a jump over the broadcast season, which starts the following week. Hopefully, longtime fans will remember the show is here throughout the fall when there are so many other options out there.
One of the early episodes of the fourth season could be a little bit in the sliding-doors variety, featuring what would have changed for Mindy had some different events occurred in her life. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is also set to be one of the early guest stars, and we’re going to meet at some point Mindy’s parents to go along with all of this.
What we’re saying clearly is this: It’ll be a busy and hopefully-funny batch of episodes.
