‘Poldark’ season 2 spoilers: When do Aidan Turner, cast begin filming?

Last week, “Poldark” viewers in America had a chance to catch what was in so many ways a devastating end to the first season, in between Ross Poldark’s arrest and the death of his child. Ultimately, these are the sort of events that could leave a very permanent mark in his life and shape the man that he becomes the rest of the series.

Now that we have said all of this, we must go ahead and pose a very different question: When could the cast reassemble and start to film what lies ahead for these characters? As it was revealed earlier this month at the TCA Summer Press Tour, season 2 filming will begin later this month for Aidan Turner and the rest of the cast. This is backed up by numerous sources on Twitter, with the show preparing for a spring premiere in the United Kingdom.

What is interesting about moving forward with this series is that unlike the original product, there is not a specified end date in mind at the moment. This is a show that could go on for a long period of time, or at least so long as the ratings stay strong and interest is high.

When it comes to the show airing in America, we especially think that there is still a high ceiling for how well it could perform. This summer, it operated a little bit more as an unknown to many Americans; if you think back to “Downton Abbey,” it rose in popular over the first few years as more and more discovered what it was.
