‘Falling Skies’ season 5 spoilers: Noah Wyle directs ‘Stalag 14th Virginia’

As we get closer and closer to the end of “Falling Skies,” we imagine that in many ways, the synopses are going to get shorter, and for one simple reason: TNT really does not want to give very much away about some of their stories in advance. Really, why would they? They’ve clearly got a good thing set up right now, and they don’t want to do too much in order to jeopardize what could be a pretty exceptional end to the story.

What is special first and foremost about the upcoming “Stalag 14th Virginia” is that this marks the directorial debut of star Noah Wyle. He has done plenty of acting and producing over the years, but this is a great chance for him to step into this role during what is an extremely pivotal spot in the story. We are getting near the final battles for survival, but the synopsis below for this particular episode doesn’t say too much other than talk about an attempt to escape:

“Weaver discovers a shocking truth about an old friend and must decide how to best protect the 2nd Mass. Maggie and Isabella are forced to work together, while the remainder of the 2nd Mass attempts an escape led by Tom.”

Will there be death before we make it to the series finale? It’s pretty possible, and this synopsis already makes it very much clear that there will be some betrayal. Ultimately, we’re just going to have to wait and see how this story ends, but we imagine that there will be carnage (and hopefully some sort of hope for the future by the end of it).
