‘Better Call Saul’ season 2 is underway; first photos arrive

Better Call Saul season 1While we wait to see what the future holds for “Better Call Saul” at the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards, there is no need for waiting in order to uncover some of the first real behind-the-scenes images from the AMC show as filming resumes.

The photos HERE were posted by the show’s official Twitter account, and based on these and other official images, it looks like for the most part the table of characters from the first season will be back. That means that even though Jimmy McGill may be changing more in the wake of what he feels was betrayal at the hands of his brother Chuck, he is not taking off from the world that he already knows.

You can also see firmly below executive producer Vince Gilligan, who along with Peter Gould are the architects on this series. The first season did some great things when it comes to establishing some backstories for both Jimmy and Mike; “Hero,” “Five-0,” and “Pimento” are personal standouts that we feel like we could watch several times over and be happy.

There is no firm premiere date confirmed just yet for the show’s second season. However, if we were to guess we’d say that once again, January or February are good times to consider. The second season will run for 13 episodes instead of 10, and will hopefully provide some better insight into how quickly Jimmy will be firmly transformed into Saul, and eventually put him into a position to meet Walter White on “Breaking Bad.”
