‘Hannibal’ season 3, episode 10 preview: Will Graham meets the Red Dragon’s power

In some ways, it is becoming more and more frustrating to try to cover “Hannibal” in the way we would just about any other TV show here at CarterMatt … though the reason why has nothing to do with the show itself. This is more of a testament to NBC and what the network is not doing right now when it comes to promoting the show. They’re not even releasing promos for it anymore, and they did not even put any sneak peeks up leading up to the next airing Saturday. (We’re not going to discuss the post-mortem video that is there, mostly because of our fear of spoilers.)

The only thing that we therefore have to really discuss when it comes to footage for this episode is the Canadian promo released by City, who airs the show in Canada. Interestingly enough, they also continue to air it on Thursday nights. This network is a little more faithful in that sense that NBC, though they have an added reason given that the show filmed in Toronto.

To us, the most striking part of this promo is pretty clearly the shot of Will Graham being literally hoisted. It is a rather jarring image that really shows off the full extent of the Red Dragon’s power, and that is not necessarily something that we had come to see in this form before now. Francis Dolarhyde will start to interact more with our key characters, and there will also continue to be questions about Will’s stability as he is forced to work along with Hannibal in order to understand and stop this killer.

There are still four episodes left this season, and while we know that certain people probably have to survive for “The Silence of the Lambs” to work, there is still some room open for ambiguity.
