‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: Things get fancy with royal ball

If you are ready for something extremely fancy on “Once Upon a Time” season 5, be prepared for something rather royal! We’re going to do more than just hear about Camelot and see some of the characters; we’re going to be seeing the famed land itself.

Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, show executive producer Edward Kitsis makes it fairly clear is that there is going to be a romantic, lavish ball taking place at Camelot. He explains some of what it will look like visually with the following:

“I can tell you Episode 2 is a ball at Camelot … Eduardo [Castro], our fantastic costume designer, re-created it. It looks unlike anything we’ve done on the show before. It’s spectacular.”

What remains to be seen is the place in the timeline for these scenes. Are we going back into the past to see some of this, or keeping the story in the present? With all of the world-traveling that we have seen on the series over the years, it is definitely pretty darn easy to figure out that the show could throw some of the characters into the mix. After all, there are specifically people like Snow and Charming who are going to be willing to do everything that they can in order to find Merlin, and stop the Dark One once and for all. The same here goes for Captain Hook, who loves Emma and may not want to see her corrupted.
