‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: ‘Glee’ alum Darren Criss in talks to join

AHSNow that “Glee” has concluded its run on Fox, show co-creator Ryan Murphy is free to use some of his actors on some other shows. With that in mind, we’re pretty sure that this is where the following “American Horror Story” headline comes from.

As first reported by E! News, Darren Criss, fresh off his turn on Broadway’s “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” is in talks to join the “Hotel” season as Justin, a hipster from Silver Lake (land of hipsters) who decides that rather than deal with Halloween trick-or-treaters (who are apparently so lame), he is going to take off to the hotel. However, he quickly proves to be very demanding, and this displeases Kathy Bates’ character (who is the head of the hotel) greatly.

We do not know at present how this particular story for Darren will end, but the report mentions that Criss will recur. Therefore, at least he will get a chance to turn up in a pair of episodes, beginning with the show’s annual Halloween event.

What is somewhat interesting to us about this news is that Criss is joining a show that already has Matt Bomer and Finn Wittrock, and you can argue that both actors bear a strong physical resemblance to him. Bomer even played his brother Cooper Anderson in an appearance on “Glee” earlier in its run.

We are surprised to a certain extent that Murphy has not recruited even more “Glee” actors into some of his other shows. So far, Darren coming on here would be his second-biggest move behind casting Lea Michele in “Scream Queens.”
