‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ season 3 spoilers: Bill Hader to play new captain

The third season of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will be arriving on Fox come Sunday, September 27, and we are here now with at least a little bit of scoop pertaining to what is looking already like it will be a pretty great premiere.

It was confirmed today that none other than Andy Samberg’s former “Saturday Night Live” co-star Bill Hader is going to be gracing the show as the new Captain. If you recall, Ray Holt (Andre Braugher) was diverted away from the precinct at the end of last season, and Gina was going to be joining him as his new assignment.

There is not much in the way of information out there at the moment when it comes to who Hader will be playing, but in all honesty, how much do you really need to know here? It should already be pretty clear to anyone who loves “SNL” that Hader (star of the movie “Trainwreck” this summer alongside Amy Schumer) will be very funny in the part. It’s quite a casting coup at the moment for executive producers Dan Goor and Mike Schur to even get him.

There are some other major storylines that “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” will need to tackle at some point early this fall, with the biggest one being what comes next for Jake and Amy now that they have made the feelings for each other very clear. Where does this romance go from here?
