‘Bachelor in Paradise 2’ spoilers: Ashley Iaconetti, ‘Scandal’ season 5 stars on first ‘After Paradise’ show

AshleyIs there a real market out there for an aftershow covering all things related to “The Bachelor”? We feel like at the moment, this is something that ABC is trying to figure out. We’re treating the “After Paradise” aftershow for “Bachelor in Paradise” almost as a proving ground, since we would not be surprised if they did something similar for “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” moving forward if this draws big ratings. It’s an easy way to get more people watching and making money off of them.

For the first edition of this show airing on August 3, ABC has confirmed now some of their first attendees. In addition to cast member Ashley Iaconetti, who could have a tearful time out there judging from some of the promos that we’ve seen, and also two stars of the upcoming fifth season of “Scandal” in Josh Malina and Katie Lowes. Why bring on other series stars? The answer is simple: Cross-promotion! ABC will market them as big fans, and they can liven the show up and promote “Scandal” at the same time.

Chris Harrison and Jenny Mollen are hosting this new show, and the logline is below if you have not seen it before now:

“After Paradise” will feature host Harrison and co-host Mollen discussing and dissecting the most recent episodes of “Bachelor in Paradise,” alongside cast members and celebrity fans. Bachelor fans know Mollen from her prolific live tweeting during past seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” while Harrison is the man who has seen it all as the host of “The Bachelor” franchise since the first rose ceremony took place over 13 years ago.

If tweeting about past seasons is a way to get a hosting gig, does this mean that we’re going to be hiring next? (We’re kidding; Mollen is an actress / author with plenty of experience, but we’re not sure that many Bachelor fans know who she is.)
