‘Longmire’ season 4: Will Netflix release a trailer soon?
Earlier this week, fans of “Longmire” were treated to some news that they have long been waiting to hear: The premiere date for the fourth season, and the first full one on Netflix! The show is coming out on September 10 with its entire season, and one of the interesting things about that date first and foremost is that it’s a Thursday. Many of Netflix’s biggest shows, from “Orange Is the New Black” to “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” have launched on a Friday. For those wondering why, the only possible answer we can offer is that maybe the service wanted to avoid (understandably) September 11 as a premiere date.
Let’s move on to the next question now, and that is when will Netflix release their first trailer of footage for the new season. All of season 4 has now been filmed, and the show is firmly in the post-production process now preparing for the new episodes to air.
We should note here that there is no firm spot in which Netflix trailers are released. For “Wet Hot American Summer,” the trailer was just under a month before it came on the air. However, “Orange is the New Black” released their trailer almost two months in advance. Our feeling is that by around the middle of month, there will be something out there in video form.
Part of the reason why we do have a wait could be for story reasons. Remember how things ended with Branch and Barlow at the conclusion of season 3? It may be hard to release footage of the new season without giving something away.
One way or another, hopefully we will have something more to share soon.
