‘The Last Ship’ season 2 spoilers: Rachel’s new challenge; a new battle with the Immunes

Last Ship -Sunday night’s new episode of “The Last Ship” is in some ways going to revolve around Chandler seeing whether or not a certain “President” can really be trusted, and there are going to be more issues for Rachel along the way as she continues to construct a new, proper cure.

While it’s possible that Chandler has some progress, we can tell you that on the August 9 episode entitled “Uneasy Lies the Hand,” there is going to be a chance for Rachel to make some significant progress … but the problem may be some of what she has to do in order to make sure that some of this progress happens. Based on the synopsis below, she may be stuck doing another thing or two that she really does not want to do:

“With Dr. Scott on the verge of a breakthrough, Chandler and his team set out to land in search of much needed supplies and materials for her lab. Once there, Burk stumbles upon a gang of children who have been offered a bounty by the Immunes for information on the U.S. Navy. A vicious battle ensues when the Immunes come to collect their prisoners. Back on the ship, Rachel’s efforts to produce a spreadable cure depend on Niels – her success now inextricably linked to the scientist who nearly erased mankind.”

Here is one other cool thing about “Uneasy Lies the Hand”: It was directed by RoboCop himself in Peter Weller! This is his first episode in this role on “The Last Ship,” but he has been a great director on “Sons of Anarchy,” “Longmire,” “The Strain,” and “Under the Dome.”
