‘Fear the Walking Dead’ season 2 episode count revealed

fear -Just in case you are wondering how long “Fear the Walking Dead” season 2 will run, we’ve got a firm answer for you now: It will be at least twice as long as what you had a chance to see in the show’s first season.

Speaking in a new interview with Daily Dead (thanks to SpoilerTV for the find), special-effects guru and executive producer Greg Nicotero explained a little bit about how many episodes AMC has ordered even before the first season airs a little bit later this summer:

“We’ll start shooting the first of fifteen episodes for season two sometime in November or December, so I think the plan is to have a zombie TV show on 52 weeks a year. In The Walking Dead we had six episodes for our first season and I think we did twelve or thirteen in our second season.”

It is a little crazy to think about the episode count right now. This is a lot of episodes to have on at a specific time of the year! Why do that? It’s really more than anything else just a concern that you burn people out with that much zombie-related programming. We suppose that it is possible that the shows have audiences that are independent of one another, but it is not altogether likely.

If we were to have it our way here, we would say that the perfect situation both for these shows and for us as a viewer is that both “Fear the Walking Dead” and “The Walking Dead” would each have somewhere between 10-13 episodes a season. This cuts out the filler, and also lowers the number of episodes a year to a reasonable number so that people can watch both shows. Also, we wonder how exhausting it is to the “Walking Dead” team in Georgia to continue to do 16 episodes every year in those hot conditions.
