‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6 spoilers: Is a major Maura secret about to be revealed?

We’ve spent some time lately in our “Rizzoli & Isles” articles speaking about some harder times that have befallen our cast of characters; whether or not the upcoming episode “Nice to Meet You, Dr. Isles” (airing on August 5) touches on this darkness remains to be seen, but we can at least tell you for now that this could be a really important episode for Sasha Alexander’s character. After all, this is going to explore a part of her family history we have yet to have a chance to see on the show.

“When the jeweler to Boston’s super cool and famous dies, our investigation leads us to a member of the Isles family we’ve never met. And that leads us to a secret Maura has been keeping for almost all of her life.”

We feel like the question we are meant to ask here is simply why this is a story that Maura was so compelled to keep. This is not a woman who is particularly malicious, so we cannot imagine that she was hiding something dark or covering up the crimes of someone else. Maybe this touches back into a painful part of her part, or maybe it is something that she is embarrassed about for whatever reason.

One way or another, maybe we will get some clues after the preview for this episode airs on Tuesday night.
