‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 production begins; see new, cryptic image

ShieldWith production now underway on the third season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” of course the comic company is doing what they can in order to prepare you. How else are you going to describe the super-mysterious piece of art that they uploaded to their site earlier this weekend? Take a look at that below.

For the most part, what we know right now about season 3 is mostly in broad strokes. For example, we know that much of the story is going to be based on the whole Secret Warriors plotline from the comics, which means that Skye may more or less be replaced now by the Daisy Johnson persona. The fact that Chloe Bennet is getting a physical makeover to play the part tells you quite a bit about her own personal commitment to the craft. Obviously there are some other stories that are out there, and you will see those play out a little bit over time. Coulson continuing his word is part of it, while Grant Ward embracing his new role in Hydra is another.

“Agents of SHIELD” has long been very mysterious when it comes to some of their castings and story teasers coming out in advance. What will be curious to us once again is that there is another Marvel movie that they will have to dance around at the end of the season in “Captain America: Civil War.” They did not have to do too much work with “Age of Ultron” separating itself from those events, but remember what happened to the show after “The Winter Soldier”?

The one thing that may cause this show to not complicate itself too much after “Civil War” is that this film comes out in early May. There may not be time to really reference it before the season is over.
