‘The Good Wife’ season 7 spoilers: Michael J. Fox returning; ‘Carrie’ star to appear
File this one under “news that almost everyone saw coming”: Michael J. Fox is coming back to “The Good Wife” for its seventh season.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the Emmy winner and star of many things awesome, including “Spin City” and “Back to the Future,” is going to appear in the October 11 episode. He was a near-regular presence during the final part of season 6, but with Alicia Florrick going off to start her own firm we’re not sure how much Louis Canning will be needed. Still, we’re hoping for a few appearances; he is not a character you really need in every episode, and is more effective showing up here and there and challenging Alicia in a significant way.
As for some other casting news related to the series, former “Carrie’ star Amy Irving is also going to appear in this same episode as an “iconic” photographer who is hoping to defend some of her work. Will she represented by Louis, Alicia, or someone else? We should find out at some point in the weeks ahead.
Irving is joining a list of major guest stars for the upcoming season that also includes former “Beauty and the Beast” star Bridget Regan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who could end up being around for the entire season as a possible Alicia love interest. Cush Jumbo is going to be taking on a major role, and hopefully her character will help to fill the void that is being left by the exit of Kalinda.
New episodes of “The Good Wife” will start on CBS come October 4. Stay tuned, as we’ll have even more news soon!
