‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3 spoilers: Nicole Beharie’s Abbie has a new boss…
How many different police characters is Abbie Mills going to have to answer to on “Sleepy Hollow“? At this particular moment, that really should be one of the biggest questions that you have. We’re still sad over the exit of Orlando Jones from the series, and with that almost any replacement is going to have a hard time working into good graces in our mind. (To be fair, Irving wasn’t really Abbie’s boss during much of season 2, either … but at least he was around.)
As told by The Hollywood Reporter, Lance Gross of “Crisis” fame is going to be appearing throughout at least the early part of season 3 as Daniel Reynolds, an FBI Special Agent who is now helping to run things in Sleepy Hollow.
This news caps off what has been an enormous off-season of change for the series. Much of this begins with the hire of Clifton Campbell as the new showrunner after a disappointing second season, and then a change in setting, as well. The series is now filming in Atlanta rather than North Carolina, where it was previously set. Nikki Reed and Shannyn Sossamon are the two new series regulars, with Reed playing the show’s version of Betsy Ross and with Sossamon playing a mystery woman named Pandora.
Ultimately, the translation here is that other than Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie, not too much is going to be familiar on the third season. (Yes, we are still going to see Jenny, but we have no idea presumably what she is going to up to.)
You will see the season 3 premiere of “Sleepy Hollow” come early October, and we imagine that we’re going to have plenty of opportunities to share news before then. So, they think the answer to making the show a success again is to get rid of all the characters that made the show a success and replace them with new characters that probsbly won’t have chemistry with Ichabbie?!?!? WTF?!?!?!? New characters take time to grow on an audience that started watching because of the characters now gone. It seems they are making it too female heavy, which reeks of signs that they are vetting a new “witness” type or partner for Ichabod. Seems they have bern trying to oush poor Abbie off a cliff since midseason 2. Ichabbie’s buddy cop friendship, chemistry, and handsome looks IS the sole reason we all tuned in. They dont need a romance, their sibling affection is beautiful. Friendships between black women and white males are rarely explored unless the male is gay, but we have cool, pretty black chic friends in school all the time. It is refreshing to see! If the new show runner can’t recapture this, then Fox should burn the project completely.
