‘Wayward Pines’ season 2: Show boss confirms no cast discussions
With “Wayward Pines” now officially over, it seems fitting at least that this would be the time in which there are some discussions on whether or not this is a show that could come back with more new episodes, and if this is something that the majority of people out there would want to see happen or not.
For the time being, what we can at least say with a little bit of confidence is that we’d like to see Fox take some time making this decision, and talk with the creative team to determine whether or not there is something more to tell. With the First Generation in power, it seems like there is … but where do you go from here without Ethan?
It does not appear that there are any serious conversations happening at the moment. Executive producer Chad Hodge confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that no members of the cast have been spoken to regarding a second season of the show. This also seems to be more or less his answer when it comes to some of the mystery situations set up at the end of the finale:
“Obviously Wayward Pines could keep going but it was meant to be these 10 episodes. To leave you with a few questions/possibilities for your mind to wander is a good thing.”
Ratings-wise, there is a case to bring “Wayward Pines” back thanks mostly to DVR figures. However, at the same time there is such a thing as overkill, and you don’t want to ruin something that was at least for the most part well-liked.
