‘Criminal Minds’ season 11 star AJ Cook, husband Nathan Andersen welcome son Phoenix Sky
Earlier today, a representative for the “Criminal Minds” star confirmed to Us Weekly that she and her husband Nathan Andersen have welcomed a son named Phoenix Sky. This is the couple’s second child, as they also have a six-year old boy named Mekhai Allan. Phoenix weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces at the time of birth, and both he and his mother are happy and healthy. Cook first announced her pregnancy earlier this year, and it came at a very busy time thanks to her co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt also expected a child with husband Brian Hallisay.
Production on “Criminal Minds” season 11 is going to be taking place throughout the summer and the fall, and we imagine that Cook’s character of JJ will be written off for a time while she is on maternity leave. She will return at some point, but in the interim the show seems to have a plan. Aisha Tyler has already signed on for a lengthy recurring role, and we’ve also heard that Marisol Nichols, following a series of guest spots on “NCIS,” is also going to be making some appearances here. We imagine that even more casting news will be announced over time, as filming goes on.
Cook has been a part of “Criminal Minds” from virtually the very beginning and has appeared in more than 200 episodes over the course of the series’ run. You are going to see how season 11 begins starting in early October on CBS. We’ll have more news as it comes out, but for the time being congratulations to her and her family!
