‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Enter ‘The Candidate’

Oliver -Is there a new election happening for Mayor of Starling City on “Arrow“? While it has only been a little over a season since we last had a story revolving around something like this, you do have to wonder after seeing a title like “The Candidate.” Per a tweet from show executive producer Marc Guggenheim, this is the name for the upcoming second episode of season 4. This is going to follow up “Green Arrow,” which is fittingly the name for a premiere that features Oliver Queen getting a new costume.

We should make it very clear that there are various different meanings for “candidate,” and not all of them are necessarily based in politics. For example, it could be a candidate for some sort of operation, someone trying to run an organization, or some other crazy term that a guy like Damien Darhk has thought up.

For the time being, the biggest thing known about the story is that Darhk is more than likely the Big Bad, and that we could see a little bit more of a story that features Oliver in a better place mentally. He has Felicity at his side, and he also understands more of what his identity is and what he wants out of his life. No longer is he some super-dark crusader, though we imagine him still trying to live in secret from most of the city.

The new season will premiere come Wednesday, October 7, and we firmly do expect that we are going to have more news before then. Be on the lookout!
