Ty Burrell, Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic have a ‘tryst’ in ‘Castle’ – ‘Modern Family’ mashup video

It’s a little bit of a slow news period for fall shows. While some of them, like “Castle,” have started production, you are in a situation where thanks to a cliffhanger, the team on-set are very anxious to keep almost everything under wraps.

Luckily, the folks over at ABC have found a way to be still rather generous when it comes to ways to keeping us entertained. Therefore, we present to you the latest mash-up promo featuring “Castle” and “Modern Family,” which you can see below. While this may be a very cheesy concept, someone spliced together some scenes of Phil (Ty Burrell) and Rick (Nathan Fillion) together rather perfectly to make it look like they are planning some sort of secret romantic rendezvous with each other, only for it to go terrible awry. We won’t spoil it all, but Beckett (Stana Katic) has a fun cameo near the end.

Both of these shows are landmark hits for ABC, so we’re not too shocked to see them promoted in this pretty-funny way. They also are both coming back on the air this September. We imagine that there will be some official footage released later this summer.

Just in case you are not done laughing at these mash-up videos after the “Castle” one, we’ve also got an equally-funny one below that features “General Hospital” mashed up with “Once Upon a Time.” We don’t follow the daytime drama too closely, but the scene still works really well even if you do not quite know who all of the characters are.
