‘True Detective’ season 2, episode 6 spoilers: Further news on ‘Church in Ruins’

Five episodes into “True Detective” season 2, and we still have little clue as to why in the world HBO is so desperate to preserve their synopses. It’s not like any one of these gives away the most extensive amount of information that we’ve ever seen, but they are still so protective of them that you would suddenly envision that they are something that actually contained the secrets to life, the universe, and everything.

We won’t spend any more time complaining about them, though … at least in this article. Instead, we’ll just go ahead and share what is the confirmed description for “Church in Ruins” as shared recently by HBO:

“Desperate to locate a missing woman with intel on Caspere, Frank (Vince Vaughn) meets with Mexican drug dealers. Ani (Rachel McAdams) infiltrates an exclusive inner circle, with Ray (Colin Farrell) and Paul (Taylor Kitsch) keeping close tabs.”

This past episode of the series ended with a confrontation between Ray and Frank, and the one assumption that you can make is that these two do eventually leave the table and go on to do other things. As for Ani, the infiltration the description is talking about here revolves trying to set up some bait at one of the parties that is thrown by the wealthy in powerful, which have to date featured many women who have been surgically-enhanced specifically for this purpose. These parties were a source for Caspere to gather up information (often in some rather seedy ways) before his death. Just by being around this situation, Ani could be putting those close to her in danger.
