‘Wayward Pines’ finale spoilers: Ethan tries to take the lead

The “Wayward Pines” season finale Thursday night looks to be a very dramatic affair, especially since it already appears like the odds are pretty high that not everyone on the series is going to be able to make it out alive.

The sneak peek below is another opportunity to get a little bit of an inside look on some of the action that is coming up now that Pilcher has decided that he’s no longer interested in pressing forward with the current people in the town. For him, he seems fine to just let the entire popular be wiped out, and then start over again. The abbies are circling in, and it is up to the townspeople to figure out if there is any way to stay breathing.

Is Pilcher underestimating the leadership skills of Ethan? That is something that viewers have to hope if this show is going to have any hope at all of moving forward in a happy fashion. Ethan seems to be going somewhat against the grain in the sneak peek, uniting many of the residents in a more protective area while at the same time being one of the first lines of defense.

The mission here ultimate is simple: Restore the barrier by any means necessarily if possible. Also, stop Pilcher has to be pretty high on that list, since otherwise it seems like he could just come back and decide to try and wipe out the town again later if he so chooses.
